NATIONAL

  • International Mother Language Day celebrated in Delhi. Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu appreciated the Supreme Court for providing judgment copies in six languages and wanted all other subordinate courts to follow the same.
  • RailMadad gets Silver award in National e-Governance Awards – ‘Excellence in providing Citizen Centric Delivery’. RailMadad is the single portal for grievances, inquiry & assistance of all categories of railway customers.

 

INTERNATIONAL

  • Prince Harry, Meghan Markle fix March 31 for UK royal family exit. The royal couple announced in January that they wanted to step back from royal duties. Harry and Meghan will no longer use the titles His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness but will retain them.

 

ECONOMY

  • World’s second-biggest Operation Control Centre for goods trains set to begin operations. The centre, built at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, will be the ‘nerve-centre’ of the over 1,800 km-long eastern dedicated freight corridor.
  • France's Groupe ADP to buy 49% in GMR airport business for Rs 10,780 cr. GMR will retain management control over the airports business, and Groupe ADP will have customary rights and board representation at GMR Airports Ltd (GAL) and its key subsidiaries.

 

SPORTS 

  • Sindhu wins third successive ESPN’s Female Sportsperson of the Year award. Saurabh Chaudhary bagged the honour in the male category. Sprinter Dutee Chand became the first winners of the ‘Courage’ award.
