National Events- 

  •  Kerala has thrown open its bars and hotels which were in lockdown mode due to the unabated Covid-19 situation in the State. This was announced by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while briefing the media late Saturday evening after the review meeting convened by him to discuss the modalities.

  •  The country needs at least 600 medical colleges, 50 AIIMS-like institutions and 200 super-specialty hospitals, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Saturday as he called for the need to replicate the infrastructure development sector's public-private partnership model in the health care and education sectors.

  •  Taiwan’s main Opposition Nationalist Party chose former leader Eric Chu as its new chairperson on Saturday in an election overshadowed by increasing pressure from neighbor China.

  • A Taliban official says a roadside bomb has hit a Taliban car in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province wounding at least one person. 

  • President Joe Biden is losing support among critical groups in his political base as some of his core campaign promises falter, raising concerns among Democrats that the voters who put him in office may feel less enthusiastic about returning to the polls in next year’s midterm elections.

  •  Google is planning to launch its Pixel 6 as well as Pixel 6 Pro smartphones in October, and now a new report has claimed that both will share the same main, ultrawide camera.The devices will come with a 50MP Samsung GN1 main camera and a 12MP Sony IMX286 ultrawide camera. The Pro model will have a 48MP Sony IMX586 telephoto camera sensor with 4x zoom support, reports XDADevelopers.
