WIPRO PAPER ON 10th MARCH AT GHAZIABAD
I would love to share my experiences at the Wipro Placement 2007 held at RKGIT, Ghaziabad... and i would surely like to thank FRESHERSWORLD for giving me all the info i required for the exam...
The written paper was as expected...
15 verbal questions...
15 aptitude questions...
20 technical questions...
time was 60 mins...there was no negative marking...
Verbal was tough as usual....people say it is very easy...bt i m sure it wasnt easy at all...only if u r preparing for GRE or MBA...then only u can do it easily....Analogy questions....were very tough... i ve got somewhat good vocab...n some gud communication skillls....still i found the paper somewhat tough...
Do prepare well....from GRE Barron's...
Aptitude was not that tough...it was fine....do RS Aggarwal...whole paper was from there.....except some relationship questions...
Technical was tough, seriously....do prepare well...from Unix...coz there were a lot of questions from it, file system of unix, commands etc...C++ questions were also there bt they were easy....Do prepare this too...
Technical Interview...
I was sent up for the interview with 4 others, bt wen i reached i got that there were only 4 panels so i had to wait for someone's interview to finish... so i was waitin outside and i was jst makin up my mind....suddenly a wipro supervisor came in and he said that there is one panel waitin y dont u go in, he sent me in jst unexpectedly, and suddenly...so i became very nervous....thanx that i got a very nice interviewer in front of me....she was very nice, a lady with a very gud voice and she was a south indian...
i went in said hello, she gracefully shaked hands with me, then i sat down.....then she asked me to tell her something about myself....i started with my name and parents details, and i was really nervous, i stopped in between and wasnt able to go on...
coz of my nervousness....i straight away told her, that "i m very low right now, i m sorry for that", she asked me the reason, i told her what happnd before entering the interview room....she said ok...
then she asked me to give her my resume, i was taking it out of my file and i tore it due to my nervousness, then i took out another one and gave it to her....(remember to take more than one resume)
then she asked me about my resume, she saw C++, Java, and VB6...then asked me about difference in these languages... then she asked me about OOPS concepts, i said abstraction and encapsulation and explained them.... then she wanted me to write one program of my choice in both C++ and VB6....i said "can i hav some time", she replied, "sure".... then i said "i m not gettin any idea can u give me some specific program", she said "do u know fibonacci", i said "yes"... she said, "OK what r they?", i xplained em to her...
then she said ok now make the programs for fibonacci...i did it...bt wasnt able to do so in VB coz it had been a long time back wen i studied VB and that too was a self study...so i told about this to her...so she said "You know java?", i said "yes".. she said, "OK do it in java"...i said ok...and went on with it...
then she wanted me to explain her both the programs.....i did so....and then she said that u r good at technical, and u hav good communication skills.....bt u r nervous today...bad day....
then she gave me the HR form...and gave me some instructions about HR, she told me that "you should be more confident in HR, dont say any negative things, always be positive, and dont say sorry, or make apologies for any mistake in speech coz u havnt done anything wrong, everyone makes mistakes", i thanked her, then i said, that "I am feeling much better now, thank you very much"...
HR Interview...
I was back in confidence after my Technical Interview...so i went on for my HR confidently.... I asked the person to let me enter the room, he said..."wait a minute"...i confidently said "OK" and i was waitin...
in some time he called me in....i said "hello sir", he was also a south indian so he said "hello YAAATIN", and asked me whether he can call me like that...i said "of course sir", then he started....
He saw the form that i filled....he was reading and commenting about that....(i got only good comments)... Then he said "You have got all the good characteristics, tell me something you dont have?, u got 10 out of 10 points, u r god..." i said, "no sir i can never be god"...
he said ok give me some evidence of u being "Detail Oriented"(this i wrote in my form)...i thought for sometime...and i wasnt able to collect any particular evidence....so i said i cant give u any rt now...coz i m not gettin any right now....( I was very confident)...
then he said, "OK let's suppose i give u some work like, to click 'a' function on the monitor, and then 'b' function....how will u go at it if u r detail oriented", i said "ok, i ll first of all try to know what i m gonna do", then i said " sir the job u r giving me is very very easy for a person of my level, i can simply try it on the pc coz 2 clicks is nothin, i ll simply find out what the functions are doin...", he agreed and said "OK", then can u explain what is "being detail oriented", i told him that "i take in all factors into consideration....and work them out very well", then he asked, "can i consider that u do things and dont like to prove yourself everytime...", i said that " u can take it that way, bt i do believe in doing good and forgettin it, and i believe that good deeds come back to u somehow and sometime later in ur life."(he was impressed, smiling)...he said "OK"...
he asked, "why wipro?", i told him that " i have selected key companies and ur company is near the top in my list..." he asked me, about my list....i told him "microsoft, motorola, wipro, ibm, hexaware, and so on..."
he said, "no sign of infosys..." (i dont like infosys one little bit bt i didnt say this) i said "it is there bt near the bottom"...(and that's true, it is the last company in my list)...
he said, "would you be able to do work at any place wherever we place you", i said "yes".... he inquired about my percentages and everything was fine....and then he said "thank you very much, now you can go..." i said "thank you and bye" and then i said " hope to see you soon at wipro sir..", he kept on smiling and said bye...
( he was happy and smiling after every answer i gave) so i was pretty confident that i ll go through.... and the results were out at 1:20, and i was selected...
