TCS PAPER ON 3rd JULY AT CHENNAI

Hi tis is vidhya...I attended TCS company on 3rd july..out of 1900 candidates 746 got selected.I was happy having got selected in Asia's top first IT company and it was the first company havin taken the zeroth slot for our college..let me just giv u al an overview of the placement process in TCS..

It comprises of:

1.APTITUDE TEST

2.TECH CUM HR INTERVIEW.

APTITUDE TEST:

It was an ONLINE test conducted for us..so u needn wait for the results for a long time to come instead u would get the results on the screen as soon as u finish it..It was very easy..for clearin tis round,the only thing u al hav to do is just preparing the previous years papers..U may get the models of those but it may not hav the same data as given in previous years papers..

here u hav 3 sections..

1.VERBAL

2.QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE

3.CRITICAL REASONING

Wit regard to verbal section,synonyms,antonyms,paragraph completion wil be really tough..u wil be asked a reading comprehension which is also a bit tough but u could manage it if u hav proper time management..but just go thro GRE (11TH OR 12TH)EDITION..it wil be highly useful for u..friends, please note :there is nothin called dummy or so called trap questions and also there is nothin called upper cutoff and its pointless to worry abt these things in TCS..so u needn worry. just prepare well and hav confidence on u..

For quantitative aptitude, just prepare previous years papers as i hav said earlier..

The next section comes the very important one which is the CRITICAL REASONING. please prepare those from GRE book but for some of my friends it became pointless to hav prepared it coz they didn get anything from tat..but to be on the safer side just prepare it..(the analytical ability questions given in model papers + practice exercises ..)

INTERVIEW:

I had successfully cleared the aps test but it wasn't the ultimate thin to get into the company..u had to clear the interview which wil be absolutely a cake walk for al those who r bold enough and hav excellent communication skills wit some technical stuff in them. be confident enough to accept the things which u don know and never try to bluff something for the questions posed by the interviewer on u..so be careful. be crisp and clear enough in whatever u say..last but not the least i hav to tel u something regarding the resumes..

1.please make sure tat u r thorough wit each and everything u hav mentioned in the resume..coz its obvious tat they pose questions on u from the resume only..

2.CSE & IT students please note: unless and until u r very thorough in ur languages like C,C++ ,u needn mention it. but prepare the basics of those..durin the interview, they may ask u some questions. they may ask u to write some codes also..

3.friends,if u hav done a paper presentation or something, please make sure tat u carry a hard copy of it along wit u to the interview hall..coz they asked me for the papers which i had presented in a National Conference but i didn't have it tat time..

4.there were 3 members in my panel and friends, see to tat u maintain a proper eye contact wit them which also carries a value..

5.please make sure tat u hav gone thro the TCS profile before attending the the interview..
