TCS Interview Experience
Hi friends,
I attended the TCS interview held in our campus. I am an integrated dual degre[B.TECH{ECE}+M.TECH{VLSI DESIGN}]student studying in GITAM Visakhapatnam.
This year TCS kept minimum mark 80% exempted from aptitude test but these candidates must write the written ability test that checks our writing skills. For this you need to be thorough with the formats of e-mail, report and letter writings. I attempted 28/30 in aptitude and was confident that i will easily clear it..But a bit twist here. Thanks gitam n tcs officials for not displaying M.tech results n saying us the final list is over.If u there then u got selected otherwise prepare for next company. God knows what others thought at the very moment. It completely shooked me off bcoz Tcs was my dream. I started my aptitude preparation in the second year itself n did tried to solve every single problems from basics rs agarwal,freshersworld etc. So to digest the bitter truth it was like a sudden jump from a terrace losing your mind completely. After 5 hours of continuous patience they said they have one more list with them. That's it I was knowing if its for Mtech I will be there definitely. Yeah I did clear the written ability test and was waiting for the interview.
As per rule three interviewers were present for each panel but for some of my friends HR round was held separately.My panel number was 10 and there were three members one lady and two gentlemen. I was the 11th member for the panel on first day.I went into the room and wished them good morning and they offered me to get seated.Each interview lasted approximately 10-15 minutes no more.There will be three interviewer, 2 will ask you questions while the third interviewer listens and takes notes. And yes make sure you can answer questions asked from your resume they do read it unlike most companies. You will be given a print out of your camous commune application form. I got the result of TR N MR on the next day ....was pretty confident that I will make it easily. And the results were announced I was happy because the first name the fellow spoke out was none other than me. I rushed out for my initial preparation like dress,comb n all.
Finally its HR I was knowing the importance of this round either a hero or a zero but everything in that 20 minutes.So I wanted to act sensibly and with patience considering the importance of the time n I tried my best to get that nerves down ..like a panic attack it aroused n aroused as my turn was near .I was like let me go now .Bit hesitation and I jumped directly inside panel no 8 when I saw the saddiest person in my entire life .I was like no face no expression no response ..
HR:
Basic questions like how are you to-day?
How did you start your day?
are asked and then lady asked why do you want to shift to it?
What did you get to know from pre-placement talk ? (I request you should know something different from routine about the company).
What are your hobbies?
TR:
I mentioned C and Java in my resume.He did not ask me about C. Only questions on java were asked. I answered 3 of 7. He did not seem to be satisfied but after he asked me about the core question evolution of microprocessors? he was little bit satisfied. Be strong in your domain.
MR:
Can you adjust in different locations?
Tell me about the event you participated in IIT r fest?
Are you a good organizer?
Strengths?
Weakness?
My constraints in any type of work?
Above all Confidence is the only quality that is tested in the interview. Whatever you answer be confident and do not try to defend the answer which is wrong.Finally I managed to impress HR. I could not sleep the night my result came ...its natural .So I will suggest my juniors go on do it now ...Its very easy to crack TCS ...only thing is practice a little. One month dedication will be more than enough to crack it.I tried to include every single point in this which I faced during my interview.I don't know if I skipped a few.
