TCS Interview Experience

Hi Everyone,

TCS visited in our campus on 22nd November.There was pre placement talk(ppt) on 22 nd, in which they told us about their company, those who are passionate about TCS must attend this ppt and note down the important facts about company which will be useful during HR round.The written test was on On 23 rd, remember that its a elimination round so prepare your best for this particular round.

a) Written Test

At first there was email writing.After 10minutes of email, Aptitude round starts. 30 questions were there to be solved in 80minutes. They were not at all easy. You should prepare for Aptitude from Arun Sharma. It will be far better if you practise questions from the sites like IndiaBix, Campusgate and m4maths. My first round was cleared. Out of 600 only 132 cleared first round.

The third and final day i.e.on 24 th of nov I was in my college campus at 10AM, and interviewer called me at 4PM. It was technical interview.

b)  Technical Interview

Interviewer : Introduce yourself

Me : Introduced (for this particular question please don't bring your family in between because they want to know about yourself not family. Tell your name, branch, area of interest, Projects).

Interviewer : What is Data Structure?

Me : Told.

Interviewer : What is DBMS?

Me : Told.

Interviewer : What is relation between DBMS and Data Structure?

Me : Told

Interviewer : What is software engineering? 

Me : Told

Interviewer : What is SDLC?

Me : Told

He asked me to write a program for palindrome number in C and to relate that program with java.

It might possible that you cannot answer all the questions at that time don't try to confuse him, simply say I don't know. He will give you a tough look but don't worry just give him a pleasant smile.My interview last after 40 minutes. During that 40 minutes I was very nervous but I was not showing it, I was smiling throughout the interview and was answering every questions confidently.

c) HR Round

After 1 hour they called me for HR round, just show your positive attitude during that, be confident.He asked me to introduce, then about location and night shift problem, I said No (Be honest to yourself for these questions) He showed me a image and asked me to speak about it. He verified my marksheets and was satisfied. He asked me if I have any question regarding TCS. I asked about ASPIRE.And finally I said thank you for your time and patience sir, he smiled.

Result was announced at 11PM and out of 600 students 78 were selected, and I was 1 among them.I will advice be patient and confident.And if you are not so just give a pleasant smile throughout interview which will hide your nervousness.But,first focus on aptitude round and practise from different sources.
