I'm Dewangana Patel.
I appeared in off-campus recuitment of TCS on 21 aug 2010 at SRMCEM , Lucknow.
First round was online written test. This time they have completely change the paper pattern.
NO VERBAL SECTION
NO REASIONING SECTION.
ONLY QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE.
Whole test was of 1 hour and no. of questions 35 with negative marking of 1/3.
Around 200 students appeared in the first batch for written test and 60 get shortlisted.
Question was like this.
1. In a parking slot. only 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers can be parked. and there are total 312(not sure about this figure) wheels in the park. what can be the possible no of 4 wheelers..
a) 16 b)17 c) 18 d)19
2. If 1/6 of a number is 3 less than its 1/3 times. what is the number?
a) 3 b)2 c)1 d) 4.
etc.
Mostly questions was from age problems, probability, percentage, etc. And this time they have a very interesting type of question and i got around 6 questions like this.
question once upon a time there lived a queen who has a dress of cost $ 600 which was three times beautiful then dress of another queen who does not likes spicy foods. Everyday she went to the market and does shopping of cost $700 .
She bought 20 items. which was low in quality as compare to second queens items.
If the age of simran is 3 times thn the age of rani. and five year ago .simran age was 2 times thn rani age.what is the present age of rani?
Be alert. This question is design for wasting your time. Actual question is in last 2 lines and rest of the paragraph is useless.
R.S Agarwal, quantitive aptitude is more than enough for the preparation do practise of all the solved examples of R.S Agarwal.
I cleared written test, i had four round of interviews.
2nd round(technical round).
Questions like,
Tell us something abt urself?
Which is ur fav subject?
Explain the concept of bubble sort?
Write a querry for getting the names of employees from ur database whoes id is 003.?
Name the types of searching?
What is binary searching?
One puzzle abt the temple entry and exit.
What is normalisation?
Which driver u have used in ur project?
Explain ur project?
2nd round( technical abt project)
Do u know abt link list?
Write a code for realising an item for the memory?
Which programming language u like most?
What is differnce between java and c?
What is pointers?
What is the meaning of *p?
What is the meaning of **p?
Explain ur project?
What was ur front end and back end?
Write the connection string which u have used in ur project?
Which server u have used in ur project?
What is IDE?
Why java?
Can u add some more features in java?
What is mysql.
Why mysql?
What is open source technology?
Friends don't be panic. Answer all questions patiently and don't try to bluff them, just be yourself. If you don't know the answer then say sorry sir.
TCS interviewers were very polite and cool.
3rd round( MR).
Tell us something abt urself?
What are the two thing which u dont like?
How many members were there in ur project?
What are the things which u dont like abt ur team members?
What was ur role in ur project?
What r ur hobbies?
What u like to surf on net?
What is the best thing abt u for which u r proud of?
What is ur weak point ?
What is ur strong point?
4th round (HR).
What is the meaning of ur name?
Tell us someting abt ur parents?
How many sibling do u have?
Why engineering?
How many interviews u have faced yet?
Why TCS?
Do u have any locational constraints?
Friends just thing about all the question and prepare answer accordingly. Don't bluff them, they understand everything. If u will lie they will caught u easly. If your technicals round not strong just prepare C and learn about pointers and structure. Becouse these are the most important area of C which are asked frequently.
Don't include extra ordinary things in your CV, they don't expects knowledge in all language. They simply wanna check your basics and C is the basic of any programming language. So work on it. Keep fundamental knowledge about all the language becouse they can ask to compare about any two languages why asp.? or why php?
