TCS PAPER ON 4th AUGUST 2006  AT ALIGARH

 

HI,myself Sandeep Bhardwaj from ZHCET,AMU,ALIGARH.I m doing B.Tech. from Electonics(Final yr.).TCS had just visited our campus on 3rd & 4th of August.Recruiters arrived our college on 3rd at abt. 12 noon.First PPT was held.Around 309 students were eligible(including whole B.Tech,MCA,MSC,BE & M.Tech.).Then at abt.2 P.M.,the written test started.

It had Three sections---VERBAL,QUANT & Reasoning.

In VERBAL,around 35 antonyms & synonyms were given,then a passage with 6 spaces left in between which r to b filled wid long sentences & then 2 reading comprehension(very long).I did not remember the time but for me it had the shortest time among the three sections---I coudnt read the last passage.WAY :Most of the words were from GRE Barrons,but there is no use to learn them---becoz ones who have learnt them could hardly found at the most 4 or 5 words.The best way is to just mark 'c' option against every word ,as there is NO NEGATIVE MARKING.I suggest u there can b no practice & use for this section----this section is only based on GUESS. 

QUANT:All the questions were from previous yr. papers.This is the most easiest section.The best way is just make a practice & memorise as well,all the ques. from previous papers.I had completely & correctly done this section, & I was left with 15 minutes---for that time I just revised the questions.

REASONING:There were 3 problems each having 4 sub-ques.Mostly of these problems arrived from GRE Barrons(13 or earlier edition)---do make practice of them!!!

More than half of the students had given test on 3rd (& those who were selected from them were called for interview on the next day at around 9 in the morning) & the rest were called for test on 4th.Our branch gave the test on 4th at around 9'o clock.On the evening of 3rd until 9 in the night I was there on the test location.Luckily there I got the xerox of REASONING part of Barrons(9th edition).I came home at night & do some of the ques.(important ones) from that & luckily I got in my test one of those ques.---My Reasoning section was completed 8 minutes before & then in fear I finally submit the paper & I was very happy to see on the screen that I was selected!!!!!!!!!!!

Note: There is no negative marking,no sectional cut-off,perhaps no upper cut-off also.U can switch over to any ques. (previosly attempted or new)within a section.

 

                 After that I got the news that I may b interviewed on the same day.I rush to my home & first make my CV.I v not prepared anything for any interview earlier & also I couldnt get the time to study then.At arnd 3 P.M. I reached the Univ. Guest House, fill the FORM(which have all the details,no further need of CV).

        I was called for my first & last interview in the evening.I was interviewed by two ladies-------

I:Sandeep,u v given ur written today.(I said Yes mam).can u guess what may b ur score out of 100?

(perhaps cum surely my written score would b very very good,thats why....................)

I:Introduce urself

I:Some general ques-----I cant remember...........

I:Ok,Sandeep as u r Electronics IInd topper,u must b knowing Electronics,so there is no use to ask abt it(very strange!!!)

Then the IInd lady interviewer,who had gone outside for some time,also arrived there & then they asked very simple ques.abt LOGIC & MICROPROCESSOR,i.e. diff.bet. Latch & FF,abt diff FFs,abt. Assembly language etc.

II:Speak on some general topic for 1 minute.

II:Where do u see 5 yrs. from now?& some conuter ques.

                It was my first & last interview.I was not required for II interview---perhaps my written score & I interview score makr mr sufficient for selection.

          I got the whole job in only one day---4th of August.Thanks to GOD.
