I m very glad to share my experience with you all...
I attended the online test and Tech+ HR of TCS held in my college (SASTRA University) on 6/09/2012
TCS two modes of selection:-
a)Direct Interview(No apti for those students who hav 75% throughout from 10th class )
b)Apti + Tech cum HR(below 75% throughout )
Totally 1900 students were eligible for TCS, out of which 862 got placed in TCS.
TCS Test pattern
No of questions :30
TCS has changed its online aptitude question pattern 2012 ....there were 30 question(Not even a single question from English),each carrying 1 marks . Aptitude question were mostly from percentage, time and work(3 questions),ages(3 questions),profit and loss, direction test(Direct question was there from Verbal/Non verbal R S Aggarwal book page 325 question number 3) ,SI & CI, Trains, blood relation, number of triangle, number of squares ,number of rectangles, number times 4 comes while counting from 11 to 100(answer is 8,this question was
asked)allocated time was 80 min. But most of us were able to solve only 20-22 questions. There Negative marking 1/3. Cut-off for us was 14 marks.
Few questions that were asked :-
Question that I remember-most of them are also posted in m4maths(I m listing the exact question below that were asked during TCS online test held on 6th sept 2012 at SASTRA University).
1) P is 30% of Q Q is 20% of M M is 50% of N what is P/N equal to. -
data might change, but for me the exact question were there.
2 3 cars A,B,C are in the race. A is twice as likely to win as B and B is thrice as likely to win as C. what is the probability that B will win,if only one can win the race.
3 What is the remainder when 6^17+117^6 is divided by 7?
4 If 28a+30b+31c=365.(I was unable to solve this question during my online test on 6th sept 12)
then a+b+c=?.a,b,c are natural numbers.A team of 11 members is to be formed from a group of 5 men and 8 women.At most 3 men are allowed to form a group
5 The smallest number which when divided by 10, 15, 20, 35 leaves 6,11,16,31 as remainder is...
6 A problem on triangles mostly geometry type.i had one in which 87 lines were given like a truss.First 3 formed a triangle and from next onwards every 2 formed a triangle.We had to find total number of triangles.
For the no of triangle,there is a direct formula.Try to google it
7 Ten people form a circle. Each one thinks of a number and whisper it to the two neighbours adjacent to her in the circle. Then each person computes and announces the average of the numbers she had heard from her two neighbours."The number announced by the persons were 44, 12, 23, 27, 40, 46, 56, 61, 69, 36. What was the mumber picked by person who announced the average as 56?"
This question was given to us in form of diagram.
8 Find the no. of polynomial for degree of x>+1 where f(x2)=f(x)2=f(f(x))

12 Today 1999 ,the age of Mohan and his grandmother differ by 6 years. Before 50 years Grandmother age was twice as that of Mohan. What is the present age of Mohan.
13 One question was there from perfect cube folding ....but i can’t remember exactly
14 One question based on scooter cost price ( profit and loss pattern)
These are the question that I still remember...there were totally 30 questions...cut-off is 15 out of 30 marks
15 How many times the word 4 occurs in counting while counting from 11 to 100.
Ans:8 (24,44,54,64,74,84,94,34)…fourteen won’t be counted as it is spelled as fourteen(no four accent in the last while counting)
Prepare well and go for interview. Because of recession they are asking lots of questions during interview and also they are hiring less no. of students.

TCS--Tata SASTRA Commitment (said During PPT of 2012 by TCS representative) –862 students got placed in TCS out of 1700 appeared.
