Reliance RIL Technical Interview:

Interview was started with my introduction, in brief.

Then He asked why I chose chemical engineering, why not branches like CS and IT, because mostly girls prefer those branches.  I told him that I was concerned about environment and energy crisis prevalent in the world and I had a belief that chemical engineers could develop new technologies to curb the menace of pollution and hence, I chose this branch.

He asked me about my training. I told him what all I could. He did not cross question me, so I had to tell him everything by myself. Then he asked me my favorite subject, which was Mass Transfer. He asked me what all topics have I studied in that subject. I started to tell him the topics with their brief introduction. When I started for distillation he asked me how would I calculate no. of plates in a distillation column. I explained the whole process. He seemed to be satisfied. Then he asked me about my final year project.

Then what do I wish to achieve in future say about 8 years. I told him. He wished me good luck for future and that is it.

Reliance  HR Interview:

This round was more frank. The interviewer cautioned me not to give stereotyped answers and I should be frank and give true answers.

He asked me why would I like to join Reliance. I was prepared for this answer but because of his caution I carefully told my expectations with this job.

He asked me about my core values and beliefs. I told him and I had to justify them with examples. I told him about my family background and everything what I felt relevant at that point of time.

He asked me if  I would  like to go for higher studies. I plainly said no, but then added that if my job demands I would go for it.

He asked me if I would get frustrated my job is not what I have expected. I replied cleverly that being a fresher, I don’t have much choices. Moreover, at RIL I would be given whole of chance to explore my abilities during training period and then adjust into the job accordingly.

My interview ended with my question that if I am not selected for the job, can I apply off campus for it, to which he plainly replied NO, with a grin.

I shook hands and left.
