                             Power Grid Corporation Executive Trainee Exam Pattern 

                                                         The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) is the public sector undertaking inviting applications from all the eligible candidates for the post of Executive Trainee. The candidates in order to qualify in this post should have passed Graduate Admission Test in Engineering in the Electrical Engineering for getting selected in the concerned job post. Eligibility for Exam: Bachelor of Technology/ Bachelor of Engineering with a minimum of 65% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH); maximum age of all the candidates should not exceed 28 years for all the applicants.

Selection Process:The candidates in order to get selected for the Executive Trainee post must have qualified in the GATE exam, Group Discussion and Personal Interview as held for this purpose.85% weightage in the selection process is given to the GATE exam. The candidates qualifying in the GATE Exam shall be called for the interview in the ratio of 1:3 subject to the reservations as given to the reserved category of candidates.

Exam Pattern for GATE :There will be two papers in the entrance exam – General Aptitude and Electrical Engineering/ Electrical (Power) Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Power Systems Engineering respectively.Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks and 85% of marks to the subjects chosen for the second paper.


Types of Questions: There will be objective type multiple choice based questions of 1 or 2 marks each and numerical questions of 1 or 2 marks respectively

Marking Scheme:The candidates will be penalized in the form of one- third marks for all the 1 mark multiple choice questions and two- third marks for all the 2 marks multiple choice based questions respectively.There will be no deduction of marks in case of numerical questions in the exam.
