INFOSYS PAPER ON 23rd APRIL 

hello friends,i am infoscian Ritika Shah of UIET kanpur and have become a part of these renownd organization on 23 april 2007 the exam was conducted at MIT moradabad,there were around 800- 1000 students,of which ONLY 59 were shortlisted for HR n finally 40 made there way to infy.

PPT PRESENTATION( 9-10 am)
the HR presented before us the prospects and vision of the company. it included slides and videos which were quite motivating(esp. the mysore infrastructure)

IMPORTANT:  (10:15-11 am)
1)Before the written exam a form needs to be filled so please carry your photograph
2)the form consisits of peculiar details like X and XII marks obtained so better take care of that.
3) THERE IS NO NEGATIVE MARKING

WRITTEN (APTITUDE)
the paper consisted of 30 ques which were to be attempted in 40 min
1) puzzle ( a bit time consuming....practice RS AGARWAL) followed by 5 ques
2) figure ques ( really tricky,try some other stuff than RS AGRWAL)
3)data sufficiency (4 of 5 were really easy)
4) data interpretation: some data for cars(maruti,zen) was given and 2 of 5 ques were realy calculative(leave such ques. i'll suggest) but remaining 3 could be clearly figured out from the data
5)seating arrangement: similar to as given in rs aggrwal (6 peaple A-F have to sit such that b and e have exactly 2 people in between etc. etc...)
6) syllogism: just go through  the rules given in rs. agrwal n everything will be a piece of cake
TIPS: dont ever go for calculative part and since there is no negative markin......NEVER PANIC

WRITTEN (ENGLISH)
TIPS: mark my words "NO BARRON NEEDED"....just practise from any of your school days books and thats more than sufficient
TYPE 1) 2 Passages: the mother of all questions...as every prior infoscian i too would suggest to attemp them at the last
TYPE 2) 2-3 lines given with a part underlined(containing silly grammatical mistake) again a piece of cake
TYPE 3) a word was given and the closest meaning was to be chosen(needs school level vocab,in case you have an english background)
type 4) 7-8 lines complex paragraph and 4 options to each were given,we were supposed to relate each sentence with the paragraph and
choose the one which can be directly concluded from the passage.

THE RESULTS FOR THE WRITTEN WERE SCHEDULED AT 3.30 BUT WERE DECLARED AFTER AN HOUR DELAY,59 WERE SHORTLISTED(however everyone was expecting the figure to cross 100) IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE RESULTS THE INTERVIEW MANIA STARTED

MY INTERVIEW:
the HR's are realy lineant and very co-operative so need not fear,relax n give your best be very particular about your resume(esp. hobbies etc)
i was asked the followin ques
a) tel me about yourself ( i was expecting it,even you should)
b) how many squares can be formed by intersection of 7 horizontal and 7 vertical lines
c) what is phishing
d) what are spams,can their owner be known?
e) why is abi-aish marriage been made such a hype? (general awareness)
f) students are becomin net addicted instead of net-savvy,is it justified??

QUESTIONS I HEARD FROM MY FRIENDZ:
a) whats the heigt of building we are in?
b) whats the weight of half filled glass?
c) 5 big business deals
to my fear,i was unable to answer the second question but at the end of the day i realized that at infy its only your communication skills that matters.....so better brush up your communication part

THE RESULTS WERE ANNOUNCED AT 9:15 N 40(OF 59) WERE FINALLY CHOSEN  HOPEFULLY,SEE U AT INFY,BYE FOR NOW (post comments below if u liked it)
