INFOSYS WRITTEN TEST(SOLUTIONS)
Ans 1) 338..no explanations
Ans 2) 30 minutes
Tap 1 fills 1/10 tub in a minute
Tap2 fills 1/15 tub in a minute
In one minute, tub filled by two taps = 1/10 + 1/15
Drainage pipe empties 2/15 tub in a minute(1/7.5)
Total tub filled in one minute= 1/10+1/15-(2/15)=1/30
So tub takes 30 minutes to fill.
Ans 3) Annieâs foot prints
I solved this question by hit and trail.
I first took Annie as truthful, then Fanny as truthful and then Danny as truthful and the answer was easily derivableâ¦.
Ans4) (a) 30
Separate even position terms and odd position terms, u will get
Even position terms: 4,8,12,16â¦â¦.(multiples of four)
Odd position terms: 2,6,12,20â¦..(the difference between consecutive terms is in A.Pâ¦.
Like 2+4=6
6+6=12
12+8=20
thus,20+10=30)
(b) 73
the series goes like this:
3
3*2=6
6+7=13
13*2=26
26+7=33
33*2=66
66+7=73
That is, multiply by two and add 7 alternatively.
Ans5) (a)8
(b)12
(c)6
(d)1
Pure analytical question, no explanation required.
Ans 6) 45 kmph
Let speed of car be x kmph
Let at first he sees digits as âabââ¦that is the value of number is: 10a+b
After traveling for one hour, he sees the number as âbaââ¦thus its value is 10b+a
After traveling another hour,he sees the number as âa0bââ¦thus value is 100a+b
Now,
10a+b+x=10b+a..which gives x=9b-9a
10b+a+x=100a+b..which gives x=99a-9b
Equating we get,
b=6a
since âaâ and âbâ are digits, a=1 and b=6 and thus x=45
Ans7)84 years
Let the final age of man be âxâ years
He spent x/6 in childhood
He spent x/12 in youth
He spent x/7 as bachelor
and 5 years as bachelor
At the time of birth of his son, his age was: x/6+x/12+x/7+5
His son was of age x/2 when son died
At the death of his son, manâs age: x/6+x/12+x/7+5+x/2
According to question
x/6+x/12+x/7+5+x/2=x-4
solve for x
Ans 8)3 girls and 4 boys in family
let the number of girls in family be x
Thus, the number of boys in family =x+1
Since each girl have twice the number of bros than sis, thus
No of sis for a girl=x-1
No of bros for a girl=x+1
And, thus x+1=2(x-1)
Gives x=3
Ans9) 121
LCM of 2,3,4,5,6 is 60
Since they all leave remainder 1, the number should be 61,
But 61 is not divisible by 11
Next higher number divisible by 2,3,4,5,6 is 120 and adding the remainder becomes 121 which is divisible by 11 as well satisfying all the conditions
Ans 10)
A-Manager
B-Cashier
C-Floorwalker
D-Clerk
E-Buyer
Pure analytical question, no explanations
