 Infosys test on 29 dec 2009 @ mit,manipal
Infosys visited our campus on 29 dec 2009. Around 350 students sat for the test.
They followed the following selection procedure.
i)                    PPT  (1 hour): it ran for an hour in which we were briefed about our role and the brand value that Infosys carries.
ii)                   Filling of Application form:  they asked us to fill a form stating our details. They spent half an hour on it. We had to paste a photograph and prove our identity. Also our academic details were asked.
iii)                Written test : shortly we were allowed to write the aptitude test . It consisted of two sections and there was no negative marking but sectional cutoff.
A)     Reasoning + DI (30 Qs in  40 min):
5 Qs were from ranking
5 Qs were from series completion (picture)
5 Qs were from blood relations
5 Qs were from syllogism
5 Qs were based on a table given
5 Qs were from data sufficiency
Overall the paper was easy and practicing selected topics from R S Aggarwal’s reasoning book helped me. Few students finished the test before the time.
B)      English test (40 Qs in 30 min)
Two RCs were there each followed by 6-7 Qs. Passages were easy but lengthy. One quick reading was enough to solve all the Qs.
8 Qs on reading three- four lined paragraphs and then answering its theme/ central argument/ undermining statement etc.
8 Qs on identifying the grammatically correct sentences from the given options.
8 Qs on selecting the correct word from the given options.
After two hours results were out and 193 students were shortlisted for interview.
iv)                Interview : my interview was based on my resume .the interviewer asked me following Qs
a)      Tell me about yourself
b)      Your strengths and weaknesses
c)       What does an ideal company mean to you
d)      Where did you do your industrial training and what was your contribution in it.
e)      Have you done any team work  and what was my contribution in it (since I had mentioned that as my strength).
f)       Anything innovative that I had recently done (since I used the word innovative in my def of ideal company)
g)      Asked about my hobbies
h)      Finally he asked whether I had any query for him.
My interview lasted for 15 minutes and finally result came around 11:30 pm in the night.
It was a nice experience. We were offered internship too along with the job.
Finally they selected around 170+ students .
