Hi Friends, I am ARJUN A of S8 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY from
Statistics:
No of Colleges=2
Criteria=65% throughout X, XII, and B.TECH and no standing backlogs.
Total Students=353
Students who cleared Aptitude Test= 113(Be careful huge reduction in this section)
Students Selected in interview=65 (I am one of them)
Selection Procedure:
Infosys is such a company where there is no barrier in stream. That means students from any stream can sit in Infosys. There is no direct Technical round in Infosys.
The whole Selection Process contains two section Aptitude test.
>Analytical & Logical reasoning: (30 question: 40 minutes)
>English section: (40 question: 35 minutes)
Friends they will not tell about any sectional cut off be careful about section cutoff. I heard that there is 70% cutoff in first Section & 50% from second section.
After Aptitude test HR interview.
Study Materials:
>Verbal & Non verbal-R.S. Agarwal.
>Quantitative aptitude- R.S. Agarwal.
>Some Timeâs CAT study materials.
>And of course last but not least Freshers World (Be Regular & update with this site, you will get really very help)
Analytical & Logical reasoning
Friends I have not remembered the order of questions but I am telling the questions in such an order that I follow and I am sure that you also get advantage if you solve question in such order.
>Syllogism: (5 question) â Friends not only in Infosys but also in others, first attempt this question. It is very easy to solve.
Question Pattern: Statement: All A is B. Some B is C.
Conclusion: I, II
You have no need to memories all the rule of R.S. Agarwal and even you have no need to draw vein Diagram to solve it, If you follow Timeâs CAT materials. There is very simple rule in Timeâs materials by which you can solve a syllogism with in 15 sec. But I preferred to use that of in R.S. Agarwal.
>Figure Series: (5 questions) - This is damn very simple. Just need to use your brain not mind. For practice see Agarwal. But donât waste too much time for it.
Just see 3-5 Example from Agarwal It will come in
>Puzzle: (5 questions) â Keep
>Data Interpretation: (5 question) â A chart, graph, table will be givenâ¦.and you have to solve some problem on statistics. It will take too much time conserving section so do it at lastâ¦..and also follow the Option elimination process.
English Section:
Friends I am really very weak in this section. But as I have cleared so you can clear it easily. Just refer to some basic English questions from R. S. Agarwal. Thatâs more than enough or if you have Wren and Martin â English book, itâs more than enough.
>Two passages and 5 questions from each passage: Do it at the last. And before reading the passage see the question one time.
>Sentence Correction: Be care about tense mistake, spelling mistake, using of pronounâ¦..
>Fill in the Blanks: Gain a details idea on preposition, phrase, and idioms.
>Theme Detection.
HR Interview
Now the final section. The only one solution to crack the interview is to keep cool and keep talking. Donât stop until he asks you to do so (This was what I did atleast). Friends believe me the Infosys HR panel are the coolest person in the world. Even my friend was given a gulab jamun when his interview was over. And always think that they are taking your Interview to select you, not to reject you. Be friendly, polite with themâ¦â¦and atleast be truthful to them. They can easily find out if you are bluffing.
I was in the one person panel.
My Interview
Me: Good evening sir May I come in?
HR: good evening Mr. ARJUN, come in and please be seated (he was actually half-stood, I was really surprised).
Me: Thank you very much sir.
HR: So itâs already 7.00 pm. Sorry for keeping you waiting Arjun.
Me: No Not at all sir. Itâs my greatest pleasure to wait for getting a job in
HR: Then wats up arjun? How ru?
Me: Iâm fine sir, thanks. How r u sir?
HR: Iâm fine, thanks arjun. Then he looked into my mark sheets. Why there is a decrease in marks from tenth to twelfth?
Me: I told him, sir apart from academic qualifications Iâm a certified medical Transcriptionist (and showed him my certificate and work experience and the references into it.) I did this training when I was in twelfth. I thought I could well manage my time but as our classes lagged, so I couldnât manage my time and as a result is my low twelfth marks. (He was very much impressed and we talked about my work experience for another fifteen minutes).
HR: ok arjun. It is good to see that some persons also take interest in doing things like this.
Me: thank you very much sir. Iâm really honored sir.
Then we talked for some minutes about my minor and major projects for about 10 minutes.
HR: ok arjun do you have any questions?
Me: yes sir. I do have one question to you.
HR: ok what is it?
Me: sir, can you tell me what kind of projects would entrusted upon us after our successful completion of training at
HR: sorry arjun. At this moment I cannot describe you what kind of project it would be on you. It depends upon which category you will be put into.
Me: Ok sir. I understand it.
HR: Very good arjun. Thank you for participating in this whole process.
Me: Thank you very much sir, for interviewing me.
