  • Cabinet approves Proposal for Official Amendments in the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Bill. The proposed regulatory structure will enable transparency and accountability for protecting the interest of the general public. The Commission will promote availability of affordable healthcare services in all parts of the country.
  • 10 more Indian wetlands get global importance tag. Ten more Indian wetland sites, including the first from Maharashtra, have received the tag of international importance under the Ramsar Convention an inter-governmental global treaty to preserve ecological character of selected wetlands across the globe

INTERNATIONAL

  • US House passes bill on sanctions against Chinese officials for meddling in Dalai Lama's succession
  • The bill, if passed by the Senate and signed into law by the president, will also prohibit China from opening any new consulate in the US until Beijing allows Washington to open its diplomatic station in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital.
  • Donald Trump signs US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, ends 'Nafta nightmare'
  • The US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will replace the 26-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement, including tougher rules on labour and automotive content but leaving $1.2 trillion in annual US-Mexico-Canada trade flows largely unchanged.
