ECONOMY 

  • Infosys completes divestment of its stake in Unsilo A/S for over $800,000. The Danish firm focuses on advanced text analysis. It uses a unique combination of machine-learning and natural language processing to analyse large quantities of text and improve the speed and effectiveness of knowledge workers across many industries.
  • Reserve Bank elevates Janak Raj as ED. Mr. Raj replaces Michael Patra who was the executive director of the monetary policy department.

NATIONAL

  • Indian Railways commissions first Waste to Energy Plant in Bhubaneswar. The capacity of this Waste to Energy Plant is 500 Kg waste per day All types of waste including plastic and e-waste can be converted to Light Diesel Oil which is used to light furnaces.

INTERNATIONAL

  • Taranjit Singh Sandhu appointed India's ambassador to US. Sandhu, a 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently posted as High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka.
