NATIONAL

  • Cabinet approves MoU between India and Brazil for cooperation in the oil and natural gas sector. Under the MoU, both sides will work towards establishing cooperation in the E&P initiatives in Brazil and India, research & development in this sector
  • Cabinet approves MoU between India and Brazil on Cooperation in field of Geology and Mineral Resources. The MoU will provide an institutional mechanism between Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines of the Republic of India and Geological Survey of Brazil – CPRM, Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Federative Republic of Brazil for cooperation in field of Geology and Mineral Resources.

ECONOMY

  • WEF honour for HCL Tech CEO. C.Vijayakumar, president and CEO, HCL Technologies, has been named chairman of the IT Governors Community of the World Economic Forum (WEF). 
  • Japan's NTT to invest an estimated $1.5 billion in data centers in India
  • A string of corporates, including the Adani Group, Hiranandanis, and Reliance Industries have announced investments in data centers, on the back of regulatory moves like data sovereignty which makes it incumbent upon financial institutions to house their data locally.
  • Indian Navy Signs MoU for offshore Data with Geological Survey of India
  • The MoU is signed for ‘Sharing of seabed sediments data, products and expertise for Naval Application in Meteorology and Oceanography’.
